Iellimo signs contract with Mill Rats

Mount Aloysius junior Jeremy Iellimo, is capitalizing on a strong 2021 college baseball season, as well as an equally strong showing to begin his summer baseball season.

Last week, Iellimo signed a full contract with the Johnstown Mill Rats, of the Prospect League, that keeps him with the team until the end of the season.

Iellimo, who just finished his third full season in a Mountie uniform, this spring, earned Second Team All-AMCC recognition. He hit .362 on the season, with a .500 on-base percentage. 2021 marked the second time that Iellimo was an All-Conference pick.

Following the strong college season, Iellimo was picked up by the Mill Rats, on a temporary contract to start their season.

The temporary contract acted as an audition for Iellimo, as he started his first game and has played in 12 games to-date, leading to the full season contract. He is currently hitting .267 on the season, with five mult-hit performances, splitting time in the field between Second Base and Shortstop.

The Mill Rats are currently 6-16 on the year, putting them in fourth place in their division.
