GALLERY: Lady Highlanders run past Northern Cambria, 9-3

PATTON— A three-run sixth inning allowEd the Cambria Heights softball team to run away with a 9-3 victory Tuesday.

Following an RBI single from Northern Cambria’s Kenzie Formeck, Heights knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning when Madison Bender tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Cambria Heights Highlander Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the third. Karli Storm doubled on the first pitch of the at bat to score one run, and Emma Stockley grounded out, scoring another.

Ari Westrick and Stockley led the way with RBIs in the sixth.

Jenna Serafin earned the victory in the circle for Cambria Heights Highlander as she allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Paige Jones threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen and recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

Formeck crushed a solo homer in the third.
